The TRASAM LP3 ULTRA is built for listeners who want one capable front end for a desktop headphone setup, an active-speaker system or a traditional amplifier chain. It starts from the LP3 decoding platform and adds a dedicated headphone section and a mechanical VU meter.
LP3 listeners repeatedly describe a spacious soundstage, clear vocals, rich detail, distinct layering, a clean background and controlled, punchy bass. LP3 ULTRA uses that same core decoding platform as the starting point for a more complete desktop system.
The digital section combines eight ES9039Q2M DAC chips with an XMOS XU316 16-core audio processor, while four P1 discrete op-amps carry the signal into the analog stage. USB-B supports up to DSD512, PCM 768kHz/32bit and MQA; the HDMI-IIS input supports up to DSD512 and PCM 768kHz/32bit. Windows use requires a driver, and Android/iOS use requires an adapter cable.
The ULTRA headphone section provides 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced outputs. The 4.4mm balanced output is rated at 8.4Vrms@0dB and up to 1000mW at 64Ω. Two RCA output groups and one balanced output let the same front end feed different downstream speaker systems.
The QCC3084 module supports Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX, aptX-LL, aptX HD, LDAC, SBC and AAC. A 2.3-inch OLED display, rotary control, remote control and a mechanical VU meter complete the desktop experience.
